Disaster Relief Volunteer Teams
Help OBI gut houses, remove debris and assist with other construction projects.

Dental Volunteers
Provide emergency dental care for Louisiana residents at OBI's dental clinic.
*Out-of-state licenses accepted.

Provide emergency medical care for residents at OBI's medical clinic in New Orleans.
*Out-of-state licenses accepted.

What do I need to know about volunteering?

VOLUNTEER IN FIVE EASY STEPS!

1. Choose a team leader and minimum of three team members.*All volunteer applicants must be age 18 or older.

2. Determine how long your team will serve. *Teams are required to serve a minimum of four days.

3. Leaders complete the Team Application and fax to 757.226.6173 or mail to:

4. Once approved, OBI will contact the team leader for completed applications and health history forms for all team members.

5. Fax or mail all completed team application information.

VOLUNTEERING IN LOUISIANA: WHAT I NEED TO KNOW

OBI volunteers serve St. Tammany Parish, Orleans Parish, St. Bernard Parish and Jefferson Parish.

Our command center is a 22,000 square ft. warehouse located in Slidell, LA, approximately 31.8 miles northeast of downtown New Orleans.

OBI provides food, lodging, all tools, construction supplies and safety equipment. Volunteers are responsible for all transportation to and from our command center and to and from work sites.

Accomodations include:

  • All meals (Breakfast, Ready-To-Eat lunches, Dinner)
  • Separate men and women’s sleeping areas with cots
  • Power/AC/Heated facility
  • Hot/Cold Showers
  • 24/7 security-guarded facility and parking lot
